Open the Load Lens popup (click the extension icon in your Chrome toolbar). Enter your minimum rate-per-mile (RPM) and minimum total pay. Click Save. Next time you manually refresh DAT One, any load matching both thresholds gets highlighted automatically. You can change thresholds anytime — they sync via chrome.storage.

Ctrl+Click (Cmd+Click on Mac) any highlighted load to trigger a net profit calculation. Load Lens reads the load's origin, destination, rate, and miles from the page, sends them to our serverless API, and returns the estimated fuel cost, tolls, and net RPM. It is a single, user-initiated action per load — not background processing.

Click the envelope (✉) button on any highlighted load. Load Lens sends the load's lane, rate, and your saved pitch to an LLM (DeepSeek or OpenAI), which composes a professional rate-negotiation email. You review, edit, and send it yourself. Load Lens never sends email on your behalf — it only drafts.

After you manually refresh the DAT board, if the page's MutationObserver detects newly rendered rows that match your thresholds, Load Lens plays a short, soft tone using the Web Audio API. Volume is adjustable in settings. The alert only fires in response to DOM changes you triggered by refreshing — it never auto-refreshes the page for you.

RPM is the load's total pay divided by its distance in miles. It is the standard way owner-operators compare loads regardless of length. A $1,500 load running 1,000 miles has a gross RPM of $1.50. Gross RPM is simply total pay divided by miles — it ignores your costs. Net RPM subtracts estimated fuel and tolls from the total pay before dividing by miles. Net RPM is the number that actually reflects take-home efficiency. Load Lens's Ctrl+Click calculation gives you net RPM.

Fuel and tolls are the two largest variable costs that scale directly with miles driven. A high-paying long load can actually net less per mile than a shorter one once fuel is accounted for. By estimating these costs from the Google Maps driving distance, Load Lens surfaces the true per-mile profitability — the number that matters for decision-making.

Load Lens is designed to be user-controlled and non-automating. It never auto-refreshes the page, never simulates clicks, and never performs automated actions. It only reads load data already visible in your browser after you manually interact with DAT, reacting to your actions rather than acting on its own. That said, every user remains responsible for complying with their own DAT subscription agreement; Load Lens is an informational aid and is not affiliated with DAT Freight & Analytics.

Load Lens is designed to behave like a passive reading aid, not an automation tool. There are no refresh timers, no booking automation, and no bulk data collection. Every action originates from a manual user gesture. A MutationObserver reacts to actual DOM changes on the page, while a timer (setInterval) would fire on a fixed schedule regardless of what the user is doing. The observer approach means Load Lens only does work in direct response to your actions — for example, when new rows appear after you manually refresh. This is the core of its compliance design.

The free tier includes a daily quota of profit calculations and email drafts that resets at midnight using chrome.alarms. Highlighting and audible alerts are unlimited. The quota is tracked client-side in chrome.storage and enforced server-side by IP-based rate limiting.

Click Upgrade in the extension popup to start a Creem checkout. After purchase, you receive a license key by email. Paste the key into the popup to activate — Load Lens validates it against our server and unlocks the higher quotas. There is no account system; the license key itself is the source of truth.
